These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of mtgedh.com and any related pages, tools, and services (collectively, the “Service”) operated by MTGEDH (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1) Who we are
MTGEDH provides Magic: The Gathering Commander (EDH) tools and educational content, including (as available) a deck builder, synergy and mana curve analysis, a draft simulator, a precon upgrader, pricing estimates, and a combo database.
2) Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
3) Accounts and security
Some features may require an account.
You agree to:
- provide accurate account information
- keep your login credentials secure
- promptly notify us of unauthorized access or suspected security issues
You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
4) User content (decklists and other submissions)
“User Content” includes information you submit to the Service, such as decklists, notes, tags, comments (if enabled), and any other materials you provide.
Ownership
You retain ownership of your User Content.
License to operate the Service
By submitting User Content, you grant MTGEDH a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, analyze, display, and distribute your User Content solely to operate, improve, and provide the Service, including:
- saving and displaying your decklists to you
- generating analysis outputs (synergy, curve, pricing estimates, etc.)
- enabling sharing features you choose to use (for example, “public link” or “published” decks)
Shared/public content
If you use sharing or publishing options, you understand that shared/public User Content may be viewable by others depending on the settings you choose. You are responsible for what you choose to share.
Removal
We may remove or restrict access to User Content if we believe it violates these Terms or applicable law, or if necessary to protect the Service or users.
5) Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. You may not, and may not attempt to:
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks
- bypass or attempt to bypass security or access controls
- scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-download content or data in a way that degrades the Service or violates our instructions (including robots.txt or rate limits)
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code (except to the extent permitted by law)
- use the Service to distribute malware, spam, or harmful content
- infringe intellectual property or other rights of others
- use the Service for illegal activity
- submit content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, or abusive
We may apply rate limits or other controls to protect the Service.
6) Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, text, software, and tool functionality (excluding User Content), is owned by MTGEDH or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works of the Service (or any portion of it) unless we provide written permission.
7) MTG fan site and trademarks
MTGEDH is an independent fan site and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Magic: The Gathering, MTG, Commander, and related marks are the property of their respective owners. Any references are for descriptive purposes only.
8) Tool outputs and informational content
The Service provides tools and content for informational purposes. Tool outputs (including synergy analysis, curve recommendations, combo references, draft simulations, and pricing estimates) are generated using data, heuristics, and assumptions that may not reflect your specific playgroup, local rules, product availability, or current market conditions.
You are responsible for:
- verifying deck legality and rules interactions for your use case
- confirming prices and availability before purchasing cards or products
- using your own judgment when relying on recommendations
We do not guarantee that tool outputs are complete, accurate, or suitable for any particular purpose.
9) Pricing data disclaimer
If pricing information is shown, it is an estimate and may be delayed, incomplete, region-dependent, or inconsistent across sellers/marketplaces. Prices can change quickly and may vary based on condition, printing, language, and availability.
10) Third-party links and services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
11) Changes to the Service
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including adding or removing features. We may also update tools and content as we improve them.
12) Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:
- you violate these Terms
- we believe your use poses a security risk, legal risk, or harms other users
- required by law
You may stop using the Service at any time. If account deletion features are provided, you may request deletion as described in our Privacy Policy.
13) Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MTGEDH DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components.
14) Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MTGEDH WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE.
IN NO EVENT WILL MTGEDH’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE EXCEED $100 USD (OR, IF GREATER, THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO MTGEDH FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
15) Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MTGEDH and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from:
- your use of the Service
- your User Content
- your violation of these Terms
- your violation of any rights of a third party
16) Copyright complaints (DMCA)
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, contact us at contact@mtgedh.com with:
- identification of the copyrighted work
- identification of the allegedly infringing material and where it appears
- your contact information
- a statement of good-faith belief and accuracy
We will review and respond as appropriate under applicable law.
17) Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
You agree that any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts where we are located, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.
18) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Effective date” at the top when changes are made. Your continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
